Dedication
This official college website, the only one of its kind is dedicated to our beautiful country, Tanzania, the world’s no. 1 of Natural wonders and friendly people. To the founding father of the Nation, the late Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere, a pioneer wildlife conservationist. To our college students, guardians and parents who supported us in the establishing of the Udzungwa mountains college Trust.
“The survival of our wildlife is a matter of grave concern to all of us in Africa. These wild creatures amid the wild places they inhabit are not only important as a resource of wonder and inspiration but are an integral part of our natural resources and our future livelihood and well being. In accepting the trusteeship of our wildlife we solemnly declare that we will do every thing in our power to make sure that our children’s grand–children will be able to enjoy this rich and precious inheritance. The conservation of wildlife and wild places calls for specialist knowledge, trained manpower and money, and we look to other nations to co-operate with us in this important task the success of failure of which not only affects the continent of Africa but the rest of the world as well”. J. K. Nyerere, the first president of Tanganyika, in a speech, commonly known as Arusha Manifesto made in September 1961.
“Tanzania, a country of striking differences geographically and culturally. Nestled between the Indian Ocean and Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania has more to offer to the world than other African countries. Incredible natural beauty. A combination of the old and new, like medieval towns and ultra-modern hotels. As well as an endless variety of sports, beaches, national parks, wildlife reserves, archaeological sites, and festivals. It is unbelievable.”
“Ask not what your country, Tanzania can do for you, ask what you can do for your country, Tanzania and its people.” – Edgardo K. Welelo, College Managing Director, CEO & Founder.
