Managing Beverage Operations

The management and staff of the Udzungwa Mountains College Trust (UMCTO) in Moshi Municipality – Kilimanjaro Region, do not receive cash in hand at all and by any means, and instead, all payments – including money for the registration form, professional courses, study tours, or any assistance of money to support the college projects from our friends and development stakeholders/partners should be paid through college bank facilities, and the general public should be aware and understand that the college operates only two bank accounts namely KENYA COMMERCIAL BANK (KCB) & NATIONAL BANK OF COMMERCE (NBC) respectively.

Please, bring us your bank slip after making your payments and you will be given the college receipt of your hard-earned money. It is strictly prohibited and illegal as well as risk-taking to pay your money via the personal savings account/M-Pesa. No matter the person in the management of the Udzungwa Mountains College Trust (UMCTO) is the Managing Director, College Principal, College Accountant, Public Relations Manager, etc. We are all guided and ruled by the college constitution/Trust Deed. The management and staff of the Udzungwa Mountains College Trust (UMCTO) will not be responsible for any complaints from sponsors, guardians, parents or college students at large regarding this matter.

This course lays the groundwork for a basic understanding of beverage operations by explaining the beverage service process, describing the types of positions commonly found in beverage operations, and focusing on such beverages as beer, spirits, and wine. Included in the course are instructions on responsible alcohol service, supervisory techniques, and procedures for entry-level beverage service positions.

• Types of wines and explain the winemaking process, from the pressing of grapes to the storage of bottled wine
• Procedures for tasting and judging wines
• Classification and labeling systems for wine in such countries as France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and the United States.
• Major wine-producing areas of France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and the United States
• Basic characteristics of wines from such countries as Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, India, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, and Tanzania.

1. CERTIFIED  CERTIFICATE;

• A certificate of  Secondary Education with 4 Passes (D)  and above excluding religious subjects.

2. ORDINARY   DIPLOMA;

• An Advanced  Certificate  of  Secondary  Education  with  at least two Subsidiary  and above  OR
• A Certificate  of  NTA  Level 4

Full Amount Tshs 2,100000/= 1.5yrs

Course fees cover – Learning materials, binoculars, uniforms, books, birdsong CDs, Foreign language materials, camera, laptops & iPods, counter books & pens, and many more as per the particular field of study.

Full Amount Tshs 3,000,000/= 2.5yr

Full Amount Tshs 1,050.000/= 9 month
