COLLEGE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND (FAST FACTS)
Founded in Moshi Municipality, Kilimanjaro Region in 2008 by the risk taker and master of the game, Mr. Edgardo Kabulwa Welelo, a freelance professional naturalist guide, writer, tourism educator, global business entrepreneur and investor. The idea of establishing Udzungwa Mountains College came after the successful study tour (Educational trip) organized by himself for his tour guide students to visit Udzungwa Mountains National Park, located in south-central Tanzania. That educational trip took place on September 1st to September 3rd. As a result, the name of the college to be taken from this wonderful Udzungwa Mountains National Park after that expeditions to show the love of their beautiful country and its natural wonders. Also, that expeditions aimed at preserving a permanent memory of this beautiful and unique park as well as a part of marketing and selling this park and other natural wonders of southern circuit for Tanzanians and Overseas visitors. On October 23rd 2008, Mr. Mzei O. Gabriel, was the first college student to have enrolled on a formal course and Udzungwa Mountains College Trust was incorporated in Moshi Municipality, Kilimanjaro Region, the birthplace of the college, Tanzania on September 2nd, 2009 under the Trustees Incorporation Act 318.
